An accessible Hatha yoga class for all levels of ability and experience, including beginners. Liz encourages a mindful approach of being fully in the present moment, alongside supportive self-enquiry into how the body moves. Her aim is to provide an enjoyable and friendly class, which enables students to improve physical posture, strength and flexibility, release tension and reduce stress, increase self-awareness and cultivate a peaceful, calm mind.
Liz offers a balanced yoga practice, and while class content varies from week to week, she starts with preliminary relaxation and breath awareness. Movements warm up gradually and progress through postures (asana) and/or sequences, many of which have options to suit different levels of experience – they can be developed more deeply for experienced practitioners, or adapted for those with restrictions.
Finally, there is quiet time to relax more deeply through breathing practices (pranayama), and guided relaxation (pratyhara) and meditative concentration (dharana).
